About the Club

Diss Camera Club is a friendly, co-operative photography club, which whilst different in this way from other clubs you may find is also affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies.

Based in Diss, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border we have regular meetings every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm in the Grasmere club, overlooking the Mere on Denmark Street. Please feel free to drop in at one of our meetings if you are interested in joining.

The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) has been updated to a new release - version 2.4.

This release brings with it a number of additional tools, improvements to the interface and general enhancements.
Headliners include:

  • Colour managed workflows (although still no CMYK - that is planned for the future as are adjustment layers, layer styles and many other photoshop style features)
  • Perspective Clone
  • Lens distortion Removal
  • Improved selection and extraction tools
  • Improved printing control
  • New crop tool
  • Alignment tools
  • Welcome to the new site - still under development

There is still a lot of work to do on this new site and whilst it is now available to the general public it will still be some time time before things are completely finalised and the layout and styling polished. However if you are a member of the club you are welcome to look around and try out features, post some content etc. - but don't put too much effort into posting anything yet since it may be lost as major changes continue to be made.
