Welcome to the Diss and District Camera Club

Who we are

We are a happy bunch of amateurs who share a common interest photography.
We share our photographs, ideas, and techniques so we can all take interesting pictures and enjoy our pastime.

Where we meet
Our normal meetings are on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from September to the following May. Our venue is the Montgomerie Lodge in Diss. This link opens a map (the link opens a Google maps in a new window).
Our meetings start at 7:30pm, with doors open from about 7pm.

Want to know more?
If you’d like to know more about us or want to speak with someone before coming to a Club night, please contact any of the club officers on the contacts page.

Who does what?
  • Chairman: Our chairman is Catherine Greenhough. She is the winner of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s photographic competition 2009 and Catherine’s picture has appeared on local TV and in local and national newspapers. (Pretty good for someone who was a complete novice just over a year ago.)
  • Vice chairman: Our vice chairman is Viv Turner. She joined as a complete novice and went on to win an externally judged, set-subject competition.
  • Club Secretary: Our Club secretary is Paul Rogers. He is famous for groan jokes and claims he has no artistic talent and ‘sees’ pictures in a scientific way, but produces some great pictures nonetheless.
  • Treasurer: This post is vacant, but the money is looked after by Mike Wraight. Mike prefers straight images that haven’t had any manipulation.
  • Programme Secretary: Our programme is put together by Alan Sarsby. He is a bit of a technical bod and likes to experiment with images. If you have an idea for a talk or project please let him know. If you’re a speaker or judge looking for a gig — drop him a line via the contacts page.
  • Website officer: John Hutton is our website editor.

Membership
The club is open to anyone with an interest in photography. Our doors are always open for new members, just turn up on the night and ask the first person you see for some help, or use the contacts page to let us know you’re coming and someone will keep an eye out for you.

We are about 35 members.
