GIMP.org release v2.4 of their free open source photo editing software.

The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) has been updated to a new release - version 2.4.

This release brings with it a number of additional tools, improvements to the interface and general enhancements.
Headliners include:

  • Colour managed workflows (although still no CMYK - that is planned for the future as are adjustment layers, layer styles and many other photoshop style features)
  • Perspective Clone
  • Lens distortion Removal
  • Improved selection and extraction tools
  • Improved printing control
  • New crop tool
  • Alignment tools
  • +various other usability and architectural improvements.
