About the Club
Diss Camera Club is a friendly, co-operative photography club, which whilst different in this way from other clubs you may find is also affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies.
Based in Diss, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border we have regular meetings every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm in the Grasmere club, overlooking the Mere on Denmark Street. Please feel free to drop in at one of our meetings if you are interested in joining.
We aim to provide a friendly forum for local people to share their hobby with one another and to help and support one another in improving our photographic skills and technique. We have a current membership of around 20 people covering a wide range of age groups, including everything from beginners to experienced photographers and users of both film and digital. Among other things our active evenings enable members to try their hands at various techniques including studio photography techniques with proper lighting gear. This year we also have an ongoing shared project to give us a collective focus and challenge us creatively, with a series of regular review meetings to help guide and improve our work with a focus on developing compositional technique. One other highlight of our schedule this year is a talk on colour calibration for digital workflows, which accompanies the new camera club facilities to help people working digitally get the colours they expect from their screens and prints.
