Diss Camera Club, 2010 Exhibition

Where is the exhibition
We’ve been invited to exhibit at Suffolk Wildlife Trust at Redgrave and Lopham Fen.
Find more about the Suffolk Wildlife Trust on their web site (opens in a new page).

The Suffolk Wildlife Trust is publicising the event in their literature, and our Exhibition team are planning publicity from the Club (Thanks, Hayley.)

Exhibition Dates
Our exhibition this year is on display during:
  • The weekend of 25-26 September; and
  • The weekend of 2-3 October
For Club members and guests we have a preview evening on Friday, 24 September. Sorry, this is by invitation-only — we have to manage numbers to comply with various regulations.

Subject Themes
The exhibition is organised into four themes:
  • Landscape;
  • Colour;
  • Macro; and
  • Wildlife.

Technical matters
Maximum size of the image: A3

Key Dates
We’ll be busy assembling the exhibition as soon as the Club season starts in September. So enjoy your summer with your camera and focus (oops, dreadful pun) on taking some fantastic pictures you’d be proud to show-off!
  • Final date for entries is the Club meeting on 21 September 2010.

Important: check your diary and volunteer to staff the exhibition.

And the entry fee ...
The entry fee is £5 -- this covers refreshments for the preview evening, odds and sods, and a small contribution to Club funds.

Mounting
We are approaching Orchard Frames again for their help with mounting. We are going for cream mounts to give a professional consistency to the exhibition.
More information about prices at our Club’s AGM on 1 June.

Display
We’ll be using the Fen’s display boards which enables us to display two sides per theme. The plan is to display at least two photos per photographer, possibly more depending on entries and size of photos.

Publicity
Hayley is our chargé d'affaires for publicity. Current plans include: The Diss Express, local radio stations, and What’s on web sites.

Best wishes from the exhibition committee: Viv Turner, Paul and Sylvia Rogers, Hayley Moore.
